Privacy Policy

The short version: your screenshots, annotations, and history stay on your own device unless you explicitly turn on Ultimate cloud sync — and even then, they go straight into your own Google Drive, not our servers. We don't run analytics or ad trackers in the extension. The only things that reach our servers are your account email (if you sign in) and your purchase/plan status.

1. Who this covers

This policy covers the Precision Capture Chrome extension and the pages it opens (upgrade, options, capture history, viewer), published by Sopenu Lab ("we", "us"). If you have questions about anything below, write to sopenu.support@gmail.com.

2. What stays on your device

Precision Capture works fully offline for its core features. The following never leave your browser unless you choose to download, copy, or sync them yourself:

Captures — full-page and selection screenshots, PDFs, and Markdown clips
Annotations — pen/highlighter/shape/text/sticky-note marks and layers
Capture history — thumbnails and saved captures (up to 30 on Free, unlimited on Pro/Ultimate)
Settings — download folders, watermark text, format preferences

These are stored using the browser's own chrome.storage API, scoped to your local Chrome profile. Uninstalling the extension or clearing extension data removes them.

3. What reaches our servers

Signing in is optional and is only needed to unlock a paid plan you've purchased. If you sign in with Google, we receive and store:

Your email address and account identifier
Your plan / entitlement state (Free, Pro, or Ultimate, and which features that unlocks)

This is stored on our backend (a Supabase-hosted project we operate) and is used solely to know which paid features to unlock in the extension. We do not sell, rent, or share this data with third parties for advertising.

4. Payments

Pro (one-time) and Ultimate (yearly subscription) are both processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe — we never see or store them. Stripe shares back with us only what's needed to activate your plan: that a payment succeeded, for which offer, whether it's a recurring subscription, and a customer reference we use if you request a refund or need to manage or cancel your plan later.

5. Ultimate cloud sync (opt-in)

Ultimate adds an optional "Connect Google Drive" feature for accessing your library across devices. Turning it on is a deliberate action — it is off by default. When it's on:

Your capture files sync to a folder inside your own Google Drive, using your Google account, not ours.
We request the narrowest Google Drive scopes available for this — drive.file (only files this extension creates) and drive.appdata (a hidden folder for its own settings). We cannot see or touch any other file in your Drive.
Your synced content is never copied to Sopenu Lab's own servers as part of this feature — it lives in your Drive, under your control, and you can revoke access any time from your Google Account permissions.

6. Permissions this extension asks for

clipboardWrite	Copy a capture to your clipboard when you ask to.
identity	Google sign-in for your account, and Drive access if you turn on cloud sync.
alarms	A reliable timer so a stuck capture badge doesn't stay stuck.

We do not request access to every site you visit — the extension only reads a page when you actively start a capture on it.

7. No analytics, no ad trackers

The extension does not embed Google Analytics, ad networks, or any behavioral-tracking script. We don't know what pages you browse; we only know what you choose to capture, and only if you've chosen to store it in the ways described above.

8. How long we keep things

Local data (captures, history, settings) stays until you delete it or uninstall the extension. Account and entitlement data on our servers stays until you delete your account. Google Drive cloud-sync data stays in your Drive until you delete it there or disconnect the integration.

You can permanently delete your account — login, purchases, entitlements, and our copy of your cloud-sync metadata — any time from the account section of the upgrade page. This cannot be undone.

9. Children's privacy

Precision Capture is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

10. Changes to this policy

If we materially change how we handle your data, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where practical, note the change in the extension itself.
