Scope
This policy explains how the MyTube Guard Chrome extension, published by Sopenu Lab, handles information while providing YouTube filtering, organization, focus, and Dashboard Lock features.
Signed-out local use remains available without signing in. MyTube Guard also offers an optional Sopenu Account for account identity. The current release adds no analytics or advertising trackers and does not synchronize extension Settings, Rules, or Saved videos.
Optional Sopenu Account
If you choose Google sign-in, Supabase handles authentication for the optional Sopenu Account. Google and Supabase may process your Google Account email, provider user identifier, and basic profile identity such as your name or avatar when Google supplies it for login.
MyTube Guard does not access Gmail messages or your Gmail mailbox and does not use the Gmail API. Google sign-in does not give the extension permission to read Gmail, contacts, Drive files, or other Google product content.
Settings, Rules, and Saved videos do not sync to the Sopenu Account or cloud in this release.
Information processed on your device
To provide features you choose, MyTube Guard may read information visible on YouTube pages and store related records in Chrome extension storage on your device.
How the information is used
- Apply your filtering rules and page customization choices.
- Show hidden or organized items in the extension Dashboard.
- Restore or delete eligible items using Dashboard controls and retention settings.
- Protect access to Dashboard views with the optional local Dashboard Lock.
MyTube Guard uses this information only for these user-facing extension features.
Dashboard PIN handling
The raw Dashboard PIN is not stored. The extension creates a random salt and a PBKDF2-derived verifier on your device. These values let MyTube Guard verify later PIN attempts without retaining the PIN itself.
Dashboard Lock helps prevent casual access to extension pages on a shared device. It does not replace an operating-system password, full-disk encryption, or other device-level security.
Retention and deletion
Records remain in Chrome extension storage until you delete an available Dashboard item or rule, an automatic retention rule removes an eligible record, or you uninstall MyTube Guard. Uninstalling the extension normally removes Chrome's locally stored data and extension-private account session. You can also sign out to remove the active local account session or use Sopenu Account controls to request account deletion.
